This piece is entitled "Holy Grail" and is a wax sculpture ultimately intended to be cast in bronze using the lost wax method of casting.  These wax forms were cast from silicone molds of a glass form and a jar of skin cream.
For those unfamiliar, when speaking about beauty and makeup a product that is someone's favorite can be referred to as their "holy grail."  The idea of this piece is to present a skincare product in the form of my own interpretation the mythological holy grail.  My intention is to cause the viewer to consider the implications of using religious language to describe products and beauty-related ideas by shortening the gap between the figure of speech "holy grail" and the  actual (mythological) object (one of which's abilities is to grant eternal youth/eternal life).

The above images show the objects, molds, and results used to craft the final piece as well as detail shots of the finished piece.
